This Shouldn't
Have Happened
Whitney, almost drowning in righteous indignation, decided to call some snakes. She was mad and ready to show it, so she started with Beth.
“Hello Beth. I was wondering if you were with Dillon right now.”
“Look Whitney, if I knew where Dillon was, I would have said so in the email thread.”
“So you don’t know anything else that might help me know where she is?”
Before Whitney had stopped, Beth was already responding, “Do I need to repeat myself?”
“Hey, you told me to let Dillon borrow my truck!”
“Sorry for trying to help a friend.” Beth sighed.
“Aren’t I your friend?”
“I don’t know. Are you? You’re the one who called to yell at me.”
Whitney remembered that Beth wasn’t actually her friend and part of the reason she called was to hopefully scream at her. So, she jabbed, “Fuck you, Beth!” and hung up.
It wasn’t until after that she realized that Beth probably would have at least given her Dillon’s new address, but she was pretty happy with how she had left things.
