This Shouldn't
Have Happened
While Whitney has been out searching for her truck, Maria has been having her own unexpected and exciting evening. She found the love of her life. Alex. He was at the poetry reading she had mentioned to Whitney. Alex is a short man who writes simple love poems in complicated forms. Despite demanding meter and mathematically challenging rhyme schemes, he recounts the slowest and sweetest memories of past loves. And Maria loves a smart guy who is on good terms with his exes.
Naturally, Maria and Alex do not know that the strong and important relationship they are beginning. Making small talk in the crowded lobby of the yoga studio that hosted the poetry reading, they agreed to blow off the rest of the plans for the evening and get a drink. It won’t be until they get some time alone that they realize just how well they get along.
If Whitney calls Maria now, she will have to cancel drinks with Alex. Are you sure you want to do that?
