Have Happened
“Well,” Whitney said, reminding herself to smile in hopes of sounding friendly, “I was wondering if you knew Dillon’s new address.”
“Whitney, I don’t know if that is such a good idea.”
“Why not?”
“After everything that went down with the breakup, I guess I just don’t know.”
“You don’t know what?”
“I mean, would you want Dillon to know where you live?”
“Dillon does know where I live.”
There was a long pause as Ashley considered what she wanted to say.
“I’m sure she’ll return the truck soon.”
“I hope so too.”
After another long pause, Ashley rushed, “Well, talk to you again soon.” Whitney pleaded with her, but could only say so much before the line was dead.
Clearly, Dillon’s friends were not going to help her out.
Should Whitney:
